Why Recovery Emails Aren't Sending
If your customers aren't receiving recovery emails, here are the most common reasons and how to fix them.
Check Your Flow Settings
Is your flow turned on?
- Go to Recovery Flows in your dashboard
- Make sure the toggle is switched ON for your flow
- Verify each step has an email template selected
Are your email templates ready?
- Each flow step needs a complete email template
- Check that all templates are saved (not just drafts)
- Test send an email to yourself to make sure it works
Common Customer Issues
Customer didn't provide email
- Emails only send to customers who entered their email during checkout
- Check your abandoned carts - if there's no email address, we can't send recovery emails
Customer already purchased
- Recovery emails stop automatically once a customer completes their order
- This prevents annoying customers who already bought
Customer unsubscribed
- Customers who previously unsubscribed won't receive new emails
- Check the unsubscribed list in your dashboard
Timing Issues
Check your email delays
- Flow emails send based on your timing settings (30 minutes, 4 hours, etc.)
- If you just set up your flow, wait for the delay period to pass
- Recent cart abandoners won't get emails until the delay time is reached
Quick Fixes
- Test with yourself: Add items to your cart, enter your email, and abandon it
- Check your spam folder: Recovery emails might be going to junk mail
- Verify your flow is active: Toggle your flow off and back on
- Wait: New flows can take up to an hour to start working

- Your flow is enabled but no emails have sent for 6+ hours
- You've tested everything above and it's still not working
- You're seeing error messages in your dashboard
